Here’s our Short List for Point Guards

1. Magic Johnson – 5 titles, 3 MVPs, 3 Finals MVPs. No one else on this list touches any of that.
2. John Stockton – NBA’s all-time assists and steals leader. 19 seasons, 19 playoff appearances.
3. Oscar Robertson – 1 Title, 1 MVP, 12x All-Star, 3 All-Star MVPs, Career: 25.7 ppg, 9.5 apg, 7.5 rpg
4. Isiah Thomas – 2 titles, 1 Finals MVP, 12x All-Star, Career: 19.2 ppg, 9.3 apg
5. Jason Kidd – 1 title, 10x All-Star, 5x All NBA First Team, 4x NBA All Defense First Team, no. 2 all time in assists and steals
6. Steve Nash – 2 MVPs, 8x All-Star, 3x All NBA First Team
7. Chris Paul – 9x All-Star, 4x All NBA First Team, 5x NBA All Defense First Team
8. Stephen Curry – 1 title, 1 MVP, best shooter we’ve ever seen, but we’ve only seen it for 2.5 seasons now. Only a 3x All-Star can’t possibly be among the best ever. Longevity has to mean something. That being said, Steph is well on his way to cracking the top 2-3 the way he’s played these last two seasons.
